Bovaclox DC LA Dry Cow Intramammary Suspension
Bovaclox DC LA contains 600 mg cloxacillin (as benzathine salt) and 300 mg ampicillin (as trihydrate) in a long-acting base. For the control of mastitis in dairy cows caused by organisms sensitive to Ampicillin and Cloxacillin during the dry period.
Active Ingredient: 600 mg cloxacillin (as benzathine salt) and 300 mg ampicillin (as trihydrate) in 5.4g syringe
Indications: For the control of mastitis in dairy cows caused by organisms sensitive to Ampicillin and Cloxacillin during the dry period i.e., immediately after the last milking of the lactation. Effective antibiotic levels are maintained in the udder of the dry cow for up to 10 weeks.
Dosage: Prior to infusing Bovaclox DC LA clean and disinfect the teat. Infuse the contents of one syringe per quarter immediately after the final milking of a lactation then teat dip or spray the teat. Rubber gloves should be worn when infusing the suspension.
Withholding Periods:
MILK: DO NOT USE in lactating cows or within 49 days of calving. After calving, colostrum or milk from treated dry cows MUST NOT BE USED for human consumption or processing for 96 hours (8 milkings). If premature or unscheduled calving occurs, consult the prescribing veterinarian for advice on handling milk for bobby calves.
