WEBSTERS® LV BIVALENT BOTULINUM VACCINE for Sheep and Cattle
For the prevention of botulism in cattle and sheep, caused by Clostridium botulinum types C and D.
WHAT IS WEBSTERS® LOW VOLUME BIVALENT BOTULINUM VACCINE?
Provides active immunisation against botulism
Suitable for use in cattle and sheep
WHY CHOOSE WEBSTERS LOW VOLUME BIVALENT BOTULINUM VACCINE?
Prevents botulism types C & D
Botulism is a severe and fatal disease of sheep and cattle. It is caused by a toxin produced by the bacterium Cl. botulinum. Uncontrolled in cattle, it may cause significant annual losses, and in outbreaks losses may be 25% or more of the herd1. Vaccination is the only practical way to prevent botulism. The disease is especially common in phosphorous and protein deficient areas across northern Australia, but outbreaks can also occur in grazing cattle in southern Australia, as well as in dairies and feedlots.
Rapid onset of immunity
Immunity develops within 14 days of vaccination.
COMPOSITION
Aluminium adjuvanted toxoid and cellular antigen from:
DOSAGE & DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Cattle:
Dosage: 2ml dose by subcutaneous injection, (under the skin, NOT into the muscle).
Cattle of all ages: 2ml dose followed by a second 2ml dose 4 to 6 weeks later. A 2ml annual booster dose is recommended. Optimal immunity requires 2 doses of 2ml each, 4 to 6 weeks apart. However, the giving of the second 2ml dose is not always possible in extensive pastoral areas. In these circumstances the immunity produced by a single 2ml dose will provide worthwhile protection.
Immunity develops within 14 days of vaccination.
Sheep:
Dosage: 1ml dose by subcutaneous injection, (under the skin, NOT into the muscle).
Sheep of all ages: 1ml dose followed by a second 1ml dose 12 months later. This usually confers lifelong immunity.

ESI: Not required
