WITHHOLDING PERIOD
Meat: Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.
Pre-purchase examinations: The clinical effect of phenylbutazone can be evident for at least three days following cessation of treatment. This should be kept in mind when examining a horse for soundness.
Competition: Most competition authorities regard phenylbutazone as a prohibited substance within their rules of competition. Veterinarians are advised to check with the relevant authorities.
