OXYTETRACYCLINE INJECTION
For treatment of organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline in horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats.
ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS: 100 MG/ML OXYTETRACYCLINE (AS THE HYDROCHLORIDE)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
RESTRAINTS: DO NOT exceed 25 mL injection site volume. For long acting mode of action: Injections should be given in the neck region.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: This product is contraindicated in horses during concomitant therapy with corticosteroids.
PRECAUTIONS: Use this product with caution during the period of tooth development, including late pregnancy as it may lead to tooth discolouration.
SIDE EFFECTS: Use of this product may cause anaphylaxis in cattle. Prompt treatment with adrenaline or antihistamine is indicated.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Use all product within 4 weeks of opening.
Give either at a dose rate according to species of 3-8 mg/kg for 24 hour duration of activity or 10-20 mg/kg
for prolonged duration of activity.
Maximum dose/site: 25 mL for adult cattle, 10 mL for pigs and sheep.
Give by injection by the routes specified in the dosage table on the carton. IV injections (horses, cattle, sheep
only) for 24h activity must be given slowly over a period of at least one minute. Dilute with saline/distilled water
if required, but use diluted solution immediately. Give long acting dose by IM injection in the neck (cattle,
sheep, pigs only) and repeat after 2 days if required.
WITHHOLDING PERIODS:
MEAT: CATTLE AND CALVES - 14 days; SHEEP AND PIGS - 10 days; HORSES - 28 days.
MILK: 72 hours (6 milkings).
TRADE ADVICE:
EXPORT SLAUGHTER INTERVAL (ESI): Not established.
DISPOSAL:
Dispose empty container by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage.
STORAGE:
Store below 25°C (Air conditioning).
Do not freeze. Protect from light.
