FLUKAMEC® PLUS SELENIUM fluke treatment for sheep
For the control of Abamectin-sensitive strains of internal parasites, itch mite, nasal bot and Early Immature, Immature and Mature liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) in sheep. An aid in controlling selenium deficiencies in sheep.
WHAT IS FLUKAMEC® PLUS SELENIUM?
WHY CHOOSE FLUKAMEC PLUS SELENIUM?
Contains abamectin and triclabendazole
Flukamec is a combination of abamectin and triclabendazole. Abamectin is a potent member of the macrocyclic lactone (ML) family of drenches. Triclabendazole is a member of the benzimidazole family of drenches, but unlike the other members is liver fluke specific. It is by far the most effective fluke molecule on the market, giving better control than any other flukicidal active.
Broad spectrum parasite control
Triclabendazole controls all three developmental stages of the liver fluke, from the 4 week old (early immature) stage through to fully mature adults. Treating early immature and immature liver flukes reduces the damage that they do to the animal’s liver, which in turn reduces the likelihood of death and minimises overall production losses. In addition to providing excellent liver fluke control, FLUKAMEC PLUS SELENIUM controls all internal parasites that are susceptible to an abamectin drench, including gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworm, nasal bot and itch mite.
Contains selenium
Selenium deficiency is common in the higher rainfall areas in which the liver fluke is prevalent. Selenium deficiencies can increase the effect a worm burden can have on animals through suppressing their immune systems. Other problems associated with selenium deficiency are ill thrift, infertility, reduced production (milk, wool and meat), scouring and ‘white muscle’ disease.
