Description
FOR DOGS: For the treatment of stereotypic behaviours (obsessive-compulsive disorders) such as acral lick dermatitis, excessive grooming and tail chasing. An aid in the treatment of anxiety disorders associated with separation anxiety.

FOR CATS: As an aid in the treatment of urine spraying in desexed and female cats (Clomicalm 5 mg only)

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • Clomicalm possesses the properties of both a tricyclic antidepressant and a serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
  • Therapeutic levels are reached after approximately five to seven days of treatment.
  • In vivo, both clomipramine and its major metabolite desmethylclomipramine are active and contribute to the broad spectrum action of Clomicalm by blocking the neuronal reuptake of both noradrenaline and serotonin (5-HT).
  • Best results achieved when used in conjunction with an appropriate behaviour modification program.
