COMPOSITION
ACP 10, Acepromazine maleate 13.5 mg (= acepromazine 10 mg)/mL

ACTIONS
Acepromazine is a CNS depressant with associated activity on the autonomic system, In addition, the compound possesses antiemetic, antispasmodic and analgesic properties.
Acepromazine counteracts emesis due to central action, thus curtailing travel sickness when premedication is used. As a preanaesthetic agent, acepromazine can reduce the amount of barbiturate necessary for inducing anaesthesia by one-third, It potentiates both barbiturate and gaseous anaesthetics.

INDICATIONS
Anaesthetic premedication, tranquilliser and travel sickness suppressant.
Horses, cattle, pigs, sheep: small doses will provide tranquillisation and handling of otherwise intractable animals. Loading and transportation, examination of the penis, feet and teeth, dystocias are all facilitated.
Horses. As an adjunct in the treatment of tetanus and spasmodic colic.

PRECAUTIONS
Acepromazine is a potent vasodilator and should be used with caution in situations of low blood pressure or poor cardiac output.
